Senior Services

Senior Community Service Employment Program (SCSEP)

The SCSEP program has been funded by the MN Dept. of Economic Security and operated by the Minnesota Chippewa Tribe for 22 years.  The services provided by this program include: 

Employment opportunities for persons 55 years and older who are economically disadvantaged and seeking employment.

Job search skills, job development and community service training.

 

Minnesota Indian Area Agency on Aging

Funded by the MN Dept. of Human Service Board on Aging, the Minnesota Chippewa Tribe assists the Bois Forte, Grand Portage, Leech Lake and White Earth reservations with planning and implementation of nutrition and supportive services for persons 60 years of age and older.  Services provided include:

Advocacy, outreach, training and technical assistance

Transportation and homemaker services

Congregate dining and home delivered meals grants

Legal services and legal education

Nutrition support and health promotion

Annual conference

 

Title VI Nutrition and Supportive Services

Funded by the U.S. Dept. of Health and Human Services, Administration on Aging, the Title VI program is intended to complement the Reservations’ Title III programs. The service area of the Title VI program is limited to Indian residents of the Ponsford and Onigum communities.

Provides nutritionally well balanced congregate and home delivered meals
